Melbourne Victory have recalled a key trio of players as they look to further their A-League premiership credentials on Saturday in Newcastle.
Striker Besart Berisha and defenders Daniel Georgievski and Adrian Leijer have been named in an 18-man squad ahead of the trip north.
Under close watch from Victory's coaches after suffering a light groin strain last week, Berisha trained with the Victory squad on Thursday.
His return would bolster Victory who endured 120 minutes of FFA Cup pain in Perth last Wednesday before Monday night's 2-0 win over Wellington.
Their triumph over the Phoenix ended a remarkable run of conceding in A-League games, something defender Scott Galloway was keen to trumpet.
"To keep a clean sheet as well, it was one of the main things we were looking for," he said.
"I think it was 22 games without a clean sheet so it's great to break that drought."
The shut-out was made all the more impressive by the Victory's patched up back four.
Regular central midfield pairing Mark Milligan and Leigh Broxham played as centre-backs, with Nick Ansell (foot), Matthieu Delpierre (hamstring) and Adrian Leijer (suspension) all unavailable.
"It shows the depth in our squad. It shows how good all the players are in this team," Galloway said.
"It shows that we're going to be a team to watch this year.
"If someone steps out, we've got players that can step in and do the job."
Victory's squad depth will be tested again next week when national duty calls.
Olyroo Galloway could be joined by five others to be called up for international matches, with Mark Milligan (Socceroos) and fellow Olyroos Connor Pain and Jason Geria all set to miss the round-six match with Sydney.
New Zealand's Kosta Barbarouses and Macedonian international Daniel Georgievski could also travel for international matches.
The Victory are hardly the only club to miss players, though, with many A-League sides set to be tested for depth.
Before the round-six clash of availabilities, however, Newcastle's biggest concern with this weekend's match could be the state of the Hunter Stadium pitch.
Re-laying of the playing surface was completed on Wednesday, just three days before the match.
The Jets said it was "not something the club could control" but had been assured the pitch would be playable for the Victory match.
A Football Federation Australia spokesman said a pitch inspection on Thursday afternoon would confirm the venue's suitability for the match.
